First 128GB USB Flash Drives

Just a few days ago, Kingston announced the world’s first 128GB USB flash drive in their lineup of DataTraveler® 200 (DT200). Flash memory storage is sailing and prices are dropping fast, thinking back on the good old days when 128MB was huge on a USB drive. Priced at $546, it will come with a rugged exterior with a capless design, built-in password protection, and the usual ReadyBoost for Windows. Not to mention a 5 year warranty and 24/7 customer support. The 32GB and 64GB will set you back at a more reasonable price starting at $120 and $213.

Now trying to jump on the bandwagon is Edge Tech with their announcement of a cheaper 128GB priced at $390. Unfortunately it’s still a little pricey for the average consumer but at least it’s down more than $150. It will come with a nice durable aluminum casing as well as basic encryption software that can be of use to anyone. It will start shipping on July 31st.
